Number Two Team- Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics were founded in 1946.  They were a team that was known to dominate with their speed. The Celtics overall have 17 NBA championships and are only one ahead from their western conference rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers.  In 1959, The Celtics began their championship streak that would last until 1966.  The Celtics won 8 consecutive championships which was more than any other North American sports team.

Along with hard work and determination, the Celtics had a few players who helped them win so much.  These players were Bill Russell, Bob Cousy, John Havlicek, and Larry Bird.  Another big help to the Celtics was coach Red Auerbach.

The Celtics currently dominate the NBA as the number one team in the eastern conference.  In 2008, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett joined Paul Pierce to lead the team to its 17th championship.  These players were known as the big three.  The Celtics are again looking to win another championship to increase their lead in championships over the Lakers.
